On this Veterans Day, people across the Valley will be gathering to honor brave servicemen and women. In Clovis, multiple events will take place, including at Buchanan High School, the alma matter of several men, who died serving our country.
Every year, a group of Buchanan alumni get together and join in to honor the lives of those who have died fighting for our country. This year, the group wants to reach a new generation by putting on a Bear Bootcamp.
Last week, November 4th, marked the 10th anniversary of the first of the fallen soldiers from Buchanan High School. Jared Hubbard and Jeremiah Baro died in 2004, while serving together in Iraq. Since then, several others have lost their lives.
The group wants to pay their respects by taking time to honor them. This year they will host their annual golf tournament --- but new this year, a Bear Bootcamp to get people outdoors and also help a younger generation understand the importance of service.
