Busy portion of Friant Road reopens days after propane truck crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A busy portion of Friant Road is now reopened.

The section of road had been shut down since Tuesday after a major crash overturned a propane truck.

The closed portion of Friant at Willow Avenue reopened around 6 pm Thursday, which was a relief for drivers who had been forced to take a detour.

Clean-up crews spent days working to remove the highly flammable gas and prevent a fire in the surrounding dry brush.

The propane truck flipped on its side Tuesday night when a car pulled into its path.

Two people in the car suffered serious injuries.

The truck driver was also hurt.
