The sentence is the maximum term allowed in juvenile court. Michael, 18, could have faced a sentence of 25 years to life if the case had been prosecuted in adult court on a first-degree murder charge.
During the hearing, Michael's defense attorneys requested four years, while the Fresno County Probation Department recommended six.
The judge ultimately ordered the seven-year sentence.
She will receive 482 days of custody credit for time already served in the Juvenile Justice Facility since her arrest.
The court also ordered restitution to Quick's family. The amount will be determined at a future hearing.
