Author Saeng Douangdara visited popular Asian bisro Na Nah Thong in northeast Fresno to sign copies of his cookbook "The Lao Kitchen."
The book tour is raising awareness and appetites for traditional Laotian cuisine with a modern twist.
Douangdara says many of the more than 95 recipes in his book were inspired in his own home.
"From learning from my mom and all the Lao aunties from around the world, I was inspired to make a cookbook that is a resource for the next generation so they will be able to cook Lao food at home or from wherever they go," he said.
The Lao Kitchen Cookbook can be found in most places you get your latest reads, including Amazon, Target and Barnes and Noble.
Douangdara says his main goal for his book is to educate readers and bring people from all around the world together through tasty dishes.
