FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been hospitalized after being hit by a car in central Fresno Tuesday morning.
It happened on Hughes at Weber just before 6:30 am.

The Fresno Police Department says a man was using a walker going east on Hughes when he was hit by a Chevy.
He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police detained the driver involved in the crash.
They say he has a suspended license and warrants and is being evaluated for D-U-I.
Hughes Avenue is closed between Weber Avenue and Brown Avenue. Drivers should avoid the area.
