On Sunday, Madera County Animal Services launched a free on-site clinic.
This new program is meant to be a humane and effective way to manage these types of cats.
The service was offered through appointments.
The animal shelter says this improves the cats lives and protects public health since it makes it less likely for the cats to spread diseases.
''We are trying to help out the community as best as possible; that's why we're trying to focus on our county and city residents first," says coordinator Ludwin Garcia.
If you are a Madera County resident and want to get on the list for the next clinic, you can contact the shelter.
They are open Monday through Friday from 10 am until 4 pm.
