CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Next week, students will step onto a brand new campus in the Clovis Unified School District.

The Terry P. Bradley Educational Center is opening its doors.

The big bold letters of the Terry P. Bradley Educational Center can't be missed.

In just a few short days, about 1,000 students attending Clovis South High School or Phillip V. Sanchez Intermediate will fill the classrooms.

"We are the Sanchez Intermediate and Clovis South Longhorns, and our motto for our students will be "Horns up," Principal Dr. Sonia Torossian said.

Monday, seventh, eighth and ninth-grade students will arrive.

The first graduation will be for the class of 2029.

Torossian says while last-minute work is underway, the school will be in tip-top shape when students arrive.

"It is going to be clean and ready for them. Our custodial team will do the white glove treatment on the Sunday before everybody comes," Torossian said.

The project officially broke ground in October of 2024.

Assistant Superintendent of Facility Services Denver Stairs says, since then, crews have been working in steps to build up the 165-acre campus.

"This is a phased implementation, so when our community comes out here and sees that it's an active construction site, it was always planned to be such," Asst. Superintendent of Facility Services, Denver Stairs said.

On the first day, the main office, library and snack bar will be fully operational.

Two academic towers at the intermediate school will hold classes, and the high school multipurpose room will be open for business.

Sports fields are also up and running.

More projects will be completed as the months go on.

Despite the ongoing work, Stairs says students will be safe.

"We will have no interaction or cross-overs between contractors and students. Everybody that's on campus will be inside a closed section working anytime students are present," Stairs said.

The excitement of the new campus is being met with a somber tone as its namesake, Dr. Terry P. Bradley, passed away five weeks before it opened.

"We lost a great mentor and a great leader in our district," Stairs said.

Principal Torossian says they'll carry on his mission, and students will still get to see him on the first day.

"We filmed a video clip for him to greet our students with before he passed, and so we're just - I'm honored to carry on his legacy," Torossian said.

The best road for parents to take on the first day will be Highland, but officials say they're going to send out all of that information and everything you need to know through Parents Square and social media, before the first day of school.
