"We grew up eating seafood every day at home, like fish orceviche or soup or whatever, everything from the ocean," says co-owner Miguel Lerma.
"People from Mazatlan are 'pata saladas' because we live by the ocean," says co-owner Dora Lerma. "The salty foot."
Shrimp is served in several ways.
"On our seafood menu, it's really, really popular," Dora said. "It's a raw shrimp cooked in our aguachile sauce. We have the camarones a la diabla as well. The breaded shrimps, grilled shrimps and the bacon-wrapped shrimp."
The husband and wife team of Miguel and Dora Lerma say their seafood comes from Mexico, which makes their ceviche unique.
"Your taste is different when you try the fish," Miguel said. "You don't have to cook it. You marinate in lemon or something. You feel the taste in products like that."
Dora gave me a Mexican enchilada.
"We fry the tortilla and the red chile or green chile and put lettuce, Mexican cheese, sour cream and pickled onion on top," she said.
Instead of a red sauce, you drizzle on some beef broth.
"It's a unique style from our state, from Sinaloa," Dora said.
All your traditional favorites are here.
"The quesabirria, shredded beef with guajio peppers and the salsa, but it's not as spicy," Dora said. "We have the consommé on the side so you can dip the taco in the consommé."
We also tried the breaded fish, which was perfect for dipping into chipotle sauce. I had to cool it off with horchata.
"We have to find something, create something and bring our food here," Miguel said.
"If you come to Pata Salada, you will try something different," Dora said.
