Dine and Dish: Full O Bull in Old Town Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- The line forms as soon as Full O Bull on 5th Street in Old Town Clovis opens at 10:30 am.

"Why are they eating sandwiches instead of breakfast? I ask them that. I have no clue. They just like sandwiches in the morning," says manager Jenny Scheer.

Probably because the bread from Basque Bakery is loaded with steak.

"I think our steak's really good," says owner Bryan Basinger. "We use skirt steak, but I think a lot of it is the seasonings we use. I think our number one thing that really stands out is our oil and vinegar."

Cheer says the Pet Bull special is the top seller. It comes with steak, salami, cheese and bell pepper.

Joyce Sabbatini opened the place in 1974. Basinger bought it in 2018.

"I grew up with the family that owned it," Basinger said. "The granddaughter is still one of my good friends."

Full O Bull still has that family feel.

It is a grab-and-go spot with three tables outside.

"We put love into these things," Scheer said. "They are really loaded."

You can have potato salad on the side.

"It's homemade," Basinger said. "Our other manager, Tasha, she's the one who made the recipe."

Among the popular subs is one with salami, turkey, cheese and banana peppers.

"If you come here for the first time, you have to try one of our steak sandwiches," Basinger said.

Even on the busiest days, the crew keeps their sense of humor.

"Our manager, she's been here 23 years," Basinger said. "She's been here longer than I've owned it. When I was in high school, she was making my sandwiches."
