CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fire crews responded to an apartment fire in Clovis on Wednesday morning, where flames were contained to a single unit, authorities said.
The fire was reported around 9:45 a.m. at the Peachview Apartments, located on Peach Avenue near Gettysburg Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke filling the apartment from floor to ceiling but were able to quickly contain the flames to one room.
According to fire crews, two people live in the unit but were not home at the time of the fire. However, two dogs were inside and had to be rescued by firefighters. Their condition was not immediately known.
Fire investigators remained on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
