CAL FIRE says the fire is holding within the retardant lines, yet still has a moderate rate of spread. Firefighters are continuing to engage the fire to establish and reinforce containment lines.
CAL FIRE reported as of 9 p.m. Sunday that the fire was at 223 acres.
It is burning east of Stockton Road along Highway 108, about 70 miles west of Yosemite National Park.
CAL FIRE says an evacuation shelter is now open at the Tuolumne County Resilience Center in Tuolumne City.
