On Monday, "The Fresno Center" brought out the red carpet in honor of Educational Employees Credit Union.
The event recognized EECU's long-time commitment to provide financial services and education to area residents.
According to the non-profit, the collaboration with the credit union is helping empower individuals and foster long-term community wellbeing through financial wellness.
"A lot of folks don't know what a credit union is versus a regular bank," says Pao Yang, President and CEO of The Fresno Center. "They think a payday loan is a bank. It is vital to our community to partner with out banks so that they can come in and provide a lot of literacy courses so our community and even our staff can better understand what financial literacy really is."
The event included a special award presentation to honor the credit union's contributions, as well as an open house and launch of EECU's Mobile Branch unit.
Staff members provided a demonstration, showcasing how clients can access essential banking services directly in their neighborhoods.
