FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman in her 90s is said to be in stable condition Friday after a pit bull attack.
Coalinga Police say the woman was out watering her lawn in the morning off Polk Avenue near Warthan Streets when the dog came on to her property.

First responders say the animal came back again and charged them as they provided medical care to the victim.
That's when a Coalinga Police Officer shot the dog and it was then euthanized at the animal shelter.
A helicopter airlifted the woman to Community Regional Medical Center.

Doctors say she lost several fingers and has severe injuries to both arms.
Police are trying to find the dog's owner.
