FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Crews are investigating what led to a fire at an abandoned store in central Fresno.

It happened before 11:30 pm Tuesday at the old Dollar General Market on Fruit and McKinley.

Firefighters arrived to flames coming from the roof. A second alarm was soon called in for help.

The fire was contained to one area of the building, which had some smoke damage.

Crews used a large fan to ventilate the smoke out of the building.

The building was boarded up. No one was inside.

The cause is under investigation.
