Fire damages multiple units at Merced apartment complex, officials say

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Multiple people are without a home after a fire erupted at an apartment complex off Park Avenue south of Olive Avenue in Merced, authorities say.

Fire crews responded to the complex around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from an upstairs unit, with multiple units affected by smoke, fire, and water damage.

14 residences have been displaced as a result of the incident.

The American Red Cross has been requested to assist those impacted.



Officials say there are no reports of any injuries.

The fire remains under investigation.
