FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Chaffee Zoo's Tropical Rainforest Aviary will be closing down after nearly 40 years.

Zoo officials say the space is now outdated and does not support proper care.

The aviary provided guests with a rainforest experience while seeing tropical birds.

All of the birds will be relocated within the zoo or taken to another facility.

The final day to visit the aviary is July 5.

The zoo says the exhibit will reopen at a later date as a non-animal experience.
