Fresno Fire Captain Pete Dern to be discharged from CRMC

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Fire Captain Pete Dern will be discharged from Community Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Sept. 9, according to the fire department's Facebook page.

Dern was moved from the burn unit to the rehabilitation unit just a few weeks ago. Since then, he has been in physical therapy six to seven hours a day.

Dern was burned on 70 percent of his body when he fell through a roof fighting a fire in March.
