Police said operators in the department's "Drone as First Responder" program spotted the suspect leaving the area on an electric scooter.
The suspect initially appeared unaware of the drone overhead, but fled as officers moved in to detain him.
With assistance from the drone, officers tracked the suspect's movements and ultimately took him into custody.
The department unveiled the "Drone as First Responder" program in April.
Officials say the technology provides officers with additional details in real time, including helping locate missing persons, suspects and vehicles.
