Fresno State celebrates 50th Chicano/Latino commencement with thousands in attendance

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Thousands gathered on Saturday at the Save Mart Center for Fresno State's Chicano/Latino Commencement Celebration, which marked its 50th year.

Organizers described the event as the largest ceremony of its kind in the country. The milestone celebration featured special appearances from the event's founders and the California State University chancellor.

The annual ceremony drew significant attention online, highlighted by emotional tributes, expressions of cultural pride and an energetic dance party finale that capped the evening.

One of the night's most powerful moments came during the opening procession, when graduates carried flags representing nearly three dozen countries into the arena.
