The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the medal to him Tuesday at the Madden Library. The award goes to leaders who have made a notable impact on Mexican, Mexican American and the Hispanic Community.
President Castro has helped increase graduation rates among students, as well as implemented several programs in conjunction with the Mexican consulate.
