Fresno State said last year, nearly 624,000 ears of corn were sold at the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market, including 9,900 on the first day when 22 bins of sweet corn were sold out within 90 minutes.
"This is an exciting time of year for the Gibson Farm Market and our student employees," Nina Palomino, Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market manager said. "The sweet corn has helped increase exposure across the state and even nationally about the amazing products produced right here at Fresno State. We look forward to seeing new faces and hope to continue to see them year-round."
The market is located at 5368 N. Chestnut Ave. in the 2,500-foot expanded facility that was opened in 2013, thanks to a $1.5 million dollar bequest from the estate of Joyce Mae Gibson.
