Fresno Yosemite International Airport getting $12 million aimed for infrastructure projects

The funding aims to invest in infrastructure projects such as runways, signage and airport lighting.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Yosemite International Airport is set to receive more than $12 million to make repairs and improvements.

Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff announced that 46 airports across the state will be rewarded a combined $168 million from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The funding aims to invest in infrastructure projects such as runways, signage and airport lighting.

Fresno Yosemite plans to reconstruct more than 9,500 feet of an existing paved runway.

The grant will fund a portion of phase one of the project.
