FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- When you look inside Fresno City College's trophy cabinet or glance at the banners hanging in the gym, one word comes to mind: dominance.

"We've been really fortunate to have players come in that are committed to excellence," says Kieran Roblee.

Fresno City Volleyball has won 17 straight conference titles.

"Other people bring it up -- we just know what our goals are," Roblee said.

The goal is to win. They haven't lost a conference game in more than 14 years.

When a program with that success gets a player like this, there's potential for a special season.

"Definitely competitive, we all like to come in and get to work," says sophomore Karina Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was put on the Two-Year College Players to Watch list.

She was one of just 12 players honored across the country.

"I think the last time we had someone receive the 'Player to Watch' list was in 2019 with Marina Gonzalez," Roblee said.

What makes Rodriguez so special is what the coach calls the "spring in her jump."

"She gets up off the ground, can put some heat on the ball and not just hit it hard, but manipulate it," Roblee said.

"It's super special to receive that, but that's just a reflection of our team and the hard work that we push each other to here in the gym," Rodriguez said.

Now, the outside hitter is hoping to lead the Rams to another state title -- something that hasn't happened since 2021.
