Community Health System held its grand opening for the redesigned and renovated Burnett Extended Care Center at the Community Regional Medical Center Campus in Downtown Fresno.
$35 million went into the facility with more than 150 beds. Half of them will be offering long-term specialized help.
"It's just an amazing opportunity to provide these residents a place to call home, even if it's for the short term, to get them back on their feet," says Leslie Cotham, Director of Skilled Nursing.
The center has three gyms, therapy spaces and a beauty shop.
Around 50 people have been hired so far, but that total could rise to 200 future positions, including housekeeping, nurses and administration.
Patients will be admitted this fall.
