FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News has learned the much-anticipated opening of H&M at Fresno's River Park is set for next week.

River Park spokeswoman Tracy Kashian has confirmed the clothing retailer will open at noon on Thursday, May 29th. H&M is located in the former Border's Bookstore in North Fresno. The store will carry plus-size clothing, along with men's and women's fashions, and a children collection.

River Park Management is expecting long lines and plans to have extra security on hand for crowd-control. Customers can start lining up in front of the entrance closest to Teazer World Tea Market at 6 a.m. Via del Rio, the main street through the center of the shopping center will be closed to traffic. Kashian says it will be a party atmosphere, with a DJ playing music for the crowd. The first 100 customers in line will receive a gift card worth $10 to $300 in the store.
