FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Department of Public Health have confirmed a case of Meningococcal disease associated with a daycare facility center in Fresno County.
The FCDP says Meningococcal disease is a bacterial infection that can infect the lining of the brain, spinal cord, or bloodstream.
Common symptoms are fever, chills, headache, vomiting, drowsiness, sensitivity to light, fast breathing, and a dark purple rash.
The health department says they are working closely with healthcare providers and the daycare facility to identify those who may have been exposed.
