DETROIT -- A Detroit firefighter is being hailed as a hero after risking his life to pull a woman from a burning SUV.

The dramatic moment was captured by body worn cameras.

Detroit firefighter Donald Faulkner risked his life to pull 52-year-old Latasha Collins from a burning SUV.

The January rescue happened on the city's west side on Davison Street near Petoskey Avenue.

Collins suffered multiple fractures, third-degree burns, and internal bleeding injuries that required several surgeries.

Faulkner recently visited Collins in the hospital.

Although her road to recovery is far from over, her family is grateful she's alive.
