Samantha Busch, the widow of NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, is opening up for the first time after his death last month.

In an Instagram post shared Friday, Samantha Busch shared a long message alongside a photo of her with her husband and their children, and thanked everyone for their support.

"As a family, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you," she began. "The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives. While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God's presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you."

She continued, "The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain."

"Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people," she added. "There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone."

She ended her message writing, "We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful."

Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, died on May 21, from severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, according to his family. He was 41.

He was widely credited as one of the greatest drivers of his generation and in NASCAR history.

Samantha Busch previously detailed their meet-cute story on Instagram in 2023, writing that she met the racecar driver in 2007 while she was working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a promo model.

"I was going into my senior year of college at Purdue at the time, a sorority girl and no big surprise not the sportiest of types. So I can honestly say it was my first time at a race track!" she wrote.

Her task on the racetrack that day was to "hype people up to go for ride alongs in a Chevy Impala around the track," she recalled.

She also said that Kyle Busch's side of the story was that he "saw me from afar and asked his pr lady to ask if I wanted a ride!" She ended up riding in his car and talking, but it wasn't until later that he had gotten a hold of her number.

Samantha Busch said, "We talked on the phone for 4 months before seeing each other and going on a date and the rest is history!"

They tied the knot on Dec. 31, 2010, according to People. Their wedding was featured in a one-hour TV special on the Style Network at the time called "Fast and the Fabulous: A NASCAR Wedding."

Their son Brexton was born on May 18, 2015, and they welcomed their daughter Lennix via a surrogate on May 10, 2022.
