Law Enforcement seeks public's help with information connected to 2017 homicide in Selma

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying two people and a vehicle believed to be connected to a homicide that occurred back in 2017 in the city of Selma.

On August 31, 2017, the Selma Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on Mill Street at Olive Street.

Upon arrival, officers located 15-year-old Desiree Austin with gunshot wounds.

She was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries.

Deputies say they believe the suspect's vehicle is a blue 2002 Buick Rendezvous with a California license plate of 7EDR747.



Witnesses described the driver as a woman with her hair styled in a messy bun.



A man is also believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Selma Police Department, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
