A look inside UCP+ Central California's renovated facility

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The executive director of UCP+ Central California invited Action News cameras inside for a tour of its newly remodeled location in northeast Fresno.

In 2024, United Cerebral Palsy Central California took over the old Well Church at Maple and Nees.

They've spent the past two years renovating to better meet the needs of patients.

Upgrades include new classrooms and changing rooms with motorized lifts to help those with disabilities.

There's also a nurses room for clients to get their medications.



"This is a place that will educate people," says Roger Slingerman. "This is a place that will give people greater opportunities, and it will give them a better quality of life, and we're lucky to be part of it."

All the doors inside are also unique.

Each one is four-feet wide to accommodate wheelchairs.

That's one foot wider than what's required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
