Man arrested for assaulting roommate with hammer in Visalia, police say

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in custody after police say he assaulted his roommate with a hammer in Visalia.

It happened just after 4:30 yesterday morning at a home on South Central Street and Harvard.

Officers say 41-year-old Luis Rocha left the scene in a vehicle.

Officers were led on a chase by Rocha, who ultimately pulled over and was taken into custody.

The victim, who was struck multiple times in the head with a hammer, was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center and is being treated for his injuries..



Rocha was booked into the Tulare County Jail on attempted murder charges.
