Man arrested for DUI after hitting a quad rider with truck in Fresno County, CHP says

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday evening after a truck hit him while riding a quad in Fresno County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6 p.m. near Anchor and Floral avenues between the quad and a Toyota pickup truck.



The quad rider was traveling north on Anchor Avenue when he swerved into the southbound lane where the Toyota was driving.

The driver of the Toyota attempted to brake and avoid hitting the quad rider but was unable to do so.



The 20-year-old victim was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was arrested for driving under the influence and has not been identified.

The crash remains under investigation.
