Man dies after shooting in central Fresno, neighbor taken into custody, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man who was shot in central Fresno on Tuesday has died.

Police responded to Clinton Avenue and Bond Street for a report of a gunshot heard after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

64-year-old *Mark Tarasevic* was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Detectives identified the suspect as 74-year-old John Gentry, who was the victim's neighbor.



He was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and booked in the fresno county jail. Detectives have recovered the murder weapon.

This marks the 22nd murder in the city of Fresno this year.
