The California Highway Patrol says it happened around 12:30 pm Friday on Avenue 12 and Road 30.
The woman driving told officers she was going west on Avenue 12 when she lost control, hit a ditch and the vehicle flipped.
Officers say a man was thrown from the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.
He has not been identified, but officers say he was 65 years old.
The woman suffered minor injuries.
