The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to Billing Road and Avenue 54 in Alpaugh for reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot and began providing CPR until medics arrived.
Despite those efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspect information was provided.
