Suspect identified in Fresno County Courthouse Park stabbing

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man multiple times in downtown Fresno.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says around 12:15 pm Tuesday, a fight broke out between the two men outside the Hall of Records and the main Superior Courthouse.

The victim ultimately collapsed after suffering several wounds and deputies who were working in the courthouse rushed to provide medical aid.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries.



Witnesses identified the suspect as 25-year-old Alexander Resendiz and deputies quickly took him into custody.

Resendiz is being booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of attempted murder.

Deputies are still working to determine a motive and if the men knew each other.
