VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A somber Monday in a Visalia neighborhood after a tragic weekend.

Crime scene tape still sits in the front yard of a home on East La Vida Avenue and South Maple Street.

It's where 34-year-old Stephanie and 57-year-old Edward Reynoso lived for years with their two young children.

"At approximately 12:29 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, Visalia police officers were called to the 2700 block of East Levita Avenue for a report of a family disturbance. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman deceased," explains Liz Jones with the Visalia Police Department.

Neighbors, who didn't want to be on camera, shared that the area is quiet and calm.

They describe the married couple as individuals who kept to themselves.

Visalia Police say the residence has no history of calls before the one received from a relative on Saturday.

"The Visalia Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. They're investigating it as a suspected murder-suicide," explains Jones.

Investigators are not releasing who was responsible for pulling the trigger.

Stephanie's family describes her as caring and "the best mother in the world."

Loved ones were too devastated to talk on camera, but say she was a hard worker and involved in the community.

While local support services can't comment on a specific case, they do encourage people to reach out if they feel concerned about their relationship.

"The worst-case scenario is when someone loses their life to domestic violence. We just encourage anyone who is feeling unsafe or uncertain about what they might be experiencing to reach out and just ask for support. Ask for a listening ear because that's what organizations like ours exist to do," mentions Ashlee Wolf with the Marjorie Mason Center in Fresno.

The two children are safe and with loved ones at this time.

Support in Tulare County is available at Family Services of Tulare County.
