Evacuation orders lifted as Utah Fire in Mariposa County is fully contained

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A wildfire in Mariposa County that threatened homes is now fully contained.

The Utah Fire broke out just after 5:15 p.m. Monday in Bear Valley near Highway 49 and Bear Valley Road, prompting evacuation orders.

Those orders were lifted late Monday night, allowing residents to return to their homes.

CAL FIRE says the fire started from a destroyed acre and burned about 13 acres.

Crews worked throughout the night mopping up the area and strengthening control lines.



The investigation is ongoing.
