MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced County officials are warning residents of ongoing issues with 911 calls.
As of Tuesday morning, officials say the county is "experiencing issues" with emergency calls placed through the AT&T network.
Officials are urging anyone with an emergency to send a text to 911. Dispatchers can receive and respond to texts sent to 911.
A temporary number has also been established for emergency calls: (209) 388-7233
It's unclear what is causing the issue with placing calls.
