MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced County Sheriff's deputies arrested a high school teacher on charges related to possession and distribution of child sex abuse material.
The Delhi Unified School District says Patrick Silva is no longer on campus at Delhi High School, and he no longer has contact with students or access to district technology or devices.
Based on information currently available from law enforcement, there is no indication that any students within the district were involved, and there is no evidence that any inappropriate conduct occurred on school grounds.
The district says it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and will also conduct its own internal investigation.
In a statement, Superintendent Eric Griffin said the safety and well-being of students remains the highest priority.
