MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police are cracking down on gang violence in the city and have released recent operation results.
Officers say the expanded enforcement is due to a recent spike in gang violence.
More officers have been added to the Gang Violence Suppression Unit.
For the month of January, there have been 41 arrests, 23 guns seized, 326-grams of methamphetamine seized, and 86 field investigations.
Police say the efforts reflect their continued commitment to reducing violence and keeping the community safe.
