MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police are searching for a driver who they said hit a pedestrian, then got out of his car and moved the victim before driving away.
It happened on 16th near O Street just after 10:00 Friday night.

Investigators said after the man moved the victim away from his car he pulled into a parking lot. But a few minutes later he drove past the man on the ground and did nothing to help him.
The victim died at the scene.
The suspect's car is described as a newer Dodge Dart with five spoke rims, a rear spoiler, and possible damage to the front right side.
