TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The 76-year-old hiker who went missing in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks has been found safe.
Officials say Bill Roberts left Inyo National Forest on August 9 to meet his family at Bullfrog Lake in Kings Canyon National Park.

They say he went off his intended route and missed the meet-up with family members.
Officials say Roberts lost his tracker while on Caltech Peak, but made his way back to Lake South America Trail and found another hiker Monday morning. He was then able to contact his family through them.
A search team found Roberts about 10 minutes after that.

Officials say Roberts is healthy and is being reunited with his family.
