Mounted police unit holding fundraiser to help keep unit going

The Fresno Police Departments most beloved unit is saddling up for one of their biggest fundraiser of the year.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Police Departments most beloved unit is saddling up for one of their biggest fundraiser of the year.

Plenty of us see mounted officers at River Park, the Tower District, even Grizzlies game. What a lot of people don't realize is that they are a self-funded group.

This is one of the only mounted patrol units in the San Joaquin Valley.

To help keep it going they are holding a fundraising dinner and dance on July 23rd at the Clovis Rodeo Hall.
