MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- The next time you're in downtown Merced, you may notice a lot more "green."
City work crews recently planted 14 new trees along Main Street.
They are designed to protect infrastructure better while enhancing the downtown landscape.
The project is part of the city's ongoing revitalization efforts to create a more inviting space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
You can also look forward to the trees' vibrant purple blooms in the seasons ahead.
