Woman struck and killed by motorcycle in east central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are investigating what led up to a motorcycle collision that left a woman dead in east central Fresno.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Maple and Garland avenues.

When officers arrived, they found a downed motorcycle, separated from its driver and the woman lying dead in the road.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling north on Maple and collided with the woman, who was in the middle of the road.

The woman died due to the impact of the collision. She has not been identified.



The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Maple Avenue will be closed as the Fresno Police is calling out its collision reconstruction unit to continue the investigation.
