Officials are now saying that the aircraft was flying doctors in from the Bay Area to perform a surgery. No patient was on board.
The plane came to rest in the area of Teapot Dome Ave. and Newcomb St., just to the southeast of the runway, around 11:45 am.
Deputies arrived and found smoke coming from the aircraft.
The aircraft overran the runway, which led to the crash.
There were six people aboard the aircraft, two pilots and four doctors. Everyone was able to evacuate safely.
Flight tracking websites show that the aircraft flew from San Jose, up to Oakland, before departing to Porterville.
The NTSB and FAA will be investigating the incident.
All flight operations are expected to remain normal since the aircraft is off the runway.
