Pools may not be waste of water during drought, experts say

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Children love to swim in pools during summer, but pools are making California residents wonder if it's a waste of water since the state is in a severe drought.

Pool industry experts said that's not the case and add that once a pool is filled, only one-third of water that could keep a lawn healthy is used. Still, water district officials are wary of water waste in pools.
