Procession for Porterville man killed in helicopter crash helping fight Utah wildfire

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A procession will take place for a helicopter pilot from Porterville who crashed while supporting firefighting operations on the Widemouth Two Fire in Utah.

Miles Elliott was one of two pilots aboard a helicopter that crashed.

Friday, his body will go from the Porterville Airport to the Myers Funeral Home.

The transfer aircraft from Utah is expected to arrive at the airport at 1 pm.



Elliott will then be taken to the funeral home in a procession of fire engines and law enforcement vehicles.

Anyone wanting to pay their respects to Elliott should follow all traffic laws and stay on the sidewalks and out of the intersection as the procession takes place.
