Locals stopped by to say their goodbyes to friends at the popular food spot.
Its doors will shut in less than a week
"We are mostly sad about losing each other, but also our customers, too. We have made a lot of great bonds here with our customers. It has been good here," expresses Alyssa McPhetridge, the Assistant Manager at Quesadilla Gorilla in Tulare.
The Hanford location has been open for five years; it will also close next month.
Altogether, close to a dozen people will have to find a new place to work.
"I think it is a lot of mixed emotions. We are all handling it differently, but the consensus is that we are all devastated that it's happening, but I guess take it a day at a time," mentions Juan Flores, a shift lead at Quesadilla Gorilla.
It's not only the employees who are sad to see it go.
Customers say they will miss one of their favorite lunch spots.
"I am sad that it is closing. One, it's delicious. Two, it has brought a different feel and a different beauty to this side of town, so I will miss it," expresses Jerrod Turner, a customer at Quesadilla Gorilla.
The Tulare location was opened for less than two years.
Now, customers will have to travel to Visalia or Fresno for Quesadilla Gorilla.
"I am going to miss it. I think it's hard overall in our economy and what we have going on, and it takes a lot to run a restaurant specifically, so I feel for them," mentions Zack Slover, who is also a customer at Quesadilla Gorilla.
In a social media post found here, the owners shared that the decision wasn't easy.
They also urge anyone interested in taking over to reach out to them.
In the meantime, employees encourage customers to swing by one last time.
"We want to make sure we are remembering it with all the fondness it truly had, not with the sadness of its closing," says Alyssa.
The Tulare location will close this upcoming Sunday, on November 9.
The Hanford location will stay open until December 20.
